Comments: Zachariah Stickles b. c. 1788 m. Sarah. Enumerated in Newton in 1830. Sarah was of age 30 and under age 40 in 1830. Sarah d. 14 Apr 1837. Enumerated in Newton in 1840, 1850, and 1860. Zachariah d. 1867/8.

DIED on Friday morning in this township Mrs. Stickle, wife of Mr. Zechariah Stickle, aged about 50 (The Sussex Register, Newton, New Jersey, Monday, April 17, 1837).

Zachariah sold his share of the homestead farm on 19 Apr 1837 (V3:153) that he had acquired with brother, Philip. On 11 Feb 1840 he purchased a 74 acre farm (X3:587) on the southeast side of Stickles Pond Road, adjacent to the southeast corner of the Stickles homestead farm. Enumerated in Newton township, Sussex County, New Jersey in 1850. His Will dated 20 July 1867 Andover township, Sussex County bequeathed $400 to sons Daniel H. and Stewart in trust for son, Jesse M., to pay the interest annually and so much of the principal as they think necessary for his comfortable support and to invest the $400 into a house and lot for Jesse and any remainder of the $400 at his death to be divided among his children. To son, Philip one fourth of the money that I am to receive from the estate of my sister, Margaret Savacool. The remainder of my estate divided among my three sons, Charles Jr., Stewart, and Daniel H.; Charles and Stewart to each have one fourth part and Daniel one half part and they to serve as executors. Estate proceeding began 12 Feb 1868, Zachariah dying shortly before that date.
