Maxine Kinch, Cedar Falls

Maxine Elaine Kinch, 83, died Sept. 13, 2005 at the Elizabeth Martin Center, Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial was at Shiloh Cemetery.

Maxine Kinch was born Dec. 11, 1921 to Harry Ray and Rose Mildred (Bluski) Lutz of Sylvia. On Dec. 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Walter A. Kinch in Cedar Rapids. Maxine received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from Coe College and was director of Teen Club activities at the YMCA. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Marolee E. Harrell of Winterset; and one son Walter L. Kinch. She is survived by one daughter, Leanne M. Hensley of Cedar Falls; one son, Karl L. Kinch of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren.

Walter A. Kinch, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, in Allen Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, following a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Turner Chapel East, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha. The Rev. Harnish will officiate.

Survivors include his wife Maxine, two daughters, Marolee Harrell of Winterset and Leanne Hensley of Cedar Falls; a son, Karl Kinch of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren, Taylor Harrell, Mallory Hensley and Vanessa hensley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Walter Lee Kinch.

Walter was born Nov. 23, 1915, In Chicago, the beloved son of Frank Leroy and Nellie Knott Kinch. He married Maxine Elaine Lutz on Dec. 28, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Walter was a graduate of the University of Iowa, with a masters degree in pysical education and sociology. he was a physcial education teacher at Franklin Junior High School from 1952 until 1981. He was a Coe College alumni and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A memorial fund in Walter's name has been establed.
