Death of John Stickle, an Old Resident
At his home near Casner Station on September 2, John Stickle died of heart disease, aged 74 years. Until lately Mr. Stickle lived in Decatur at 526 North Church street. He was born Sept. 5, 1818, in York county, Pennsylvania, and came to Macon county in 1837. He was among the oldest residents of the county and was widely known as a good citizen.
Mr. Stickle leaves surviving him a widow and nine children. They are Mrs. George Waggoner, of Independence, Kansas, Mrs. Uriah Ziegler, of Jacksonville, Mrs. J. E. Crawford and Miss Ella Stickle, of San Diego, Cal., Miss Minnie Stickle, of Minneapolis, Dr. J. L. Stickle, of San Francisco, Mrs. H. W. Davis, of Decatur, and W. M. and L. C. Stickle of Decatur.
The funeral will occur Sunday forenoon at 10:30 o'clock, the services being at the Long Creek church. Decatur friends who wish to attend the funeral and have no conveyances, will find carriages at Davis' Auditorium barn to take them to Long Creek.
