FUNERAL NOTICE: Brown County World - December 4, 1891

The funeral of the late Jacob Stickel, whose sudden death shocked the community last Monday morning, took place at the Padonia church, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mr. Stickle died peacefully in bed, and not sitting in his chair as at first reported, although he had slept in his chair almost continuously for the past few weeks, which accounts for the first rumor. He was 74 years old and had been a resident of Brown County for upwards of 30 years.

DEATH NOTICE: Brown County World - May 23, 1885

Mrs. Matilda Stickel, the estimable wife of Jacob Stickel, of Padonia, died at her home last Saturday morning at 7 o'clock, aged 58 years and 4 months. Mrs. Stickel had been in feeble health for a long time, but did not become dangerously sick until about 3 weeks before her death. She had been a member of the ME Church 43 years and died in the full confidence of that higher life. She was buried at the cemetery in Padonia, Revs. J.K. McGinnis and E. Gill conducting the services.
