Comments: Cortez Journal Obituary - July/Aug 2001 Jane Eleanor Stickles Jane Eleanor Stickles passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 29, 2001. She was 92 years old. Services will be held at a later date in Grand Lake, Colo. Jane was born the daughter of Edward R. and Anna Miller (Mesick) Myer in Claverack, N.Y. on March 28, 1909. On July 27, 1932, Jane became the bride of James Edward Stickles in Claverack. Jane resided in Grand Lake for 35 years prior to her move to Cortez, where she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of the Pines. After Jane's move to Cortez 13 months ago, she became involved in the Sleeping Ute Mountain Chapter of NSDAR. Surviving Jane are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Robert Perkins of Cortez; grandsons and their wives, James and Stacy Perkins of Gunnison, Colo., and David and Richa Perkins of Columbus, Neb.; and four great-grandchildren.
