Marriage to Elizabeth Unknown? (Stickles) (Bef 1803 - ?)
Comments: David Stickles m. Elizabeth. Inventory of his estate dated 24 Nov 1803 Sussex County, New Jersey, made by Joseph Hibler and Joseph Hill. Administrator was Andrew Stickle and fellowbondsmen were Isaac Stickle and Albert Amerman, all of Sussex County. Elizabeth is called deceased in the inventory filing.

David's son John Stickle m. 21 June 1804 (Sussex County marriage record) Eve Onsted (Onstedt, Onstott, etc.). A John Stickle m. 5 July 1804 (Sussex County marriage record) Elizabeth Onsted. There was a John Sheeler, son of John Sheeler who had a daughter, Alice by an Elizabeth Onstat daughter of George Onstat. Perhaps confusion in the marriage records or an error in transcribing. Either or both of these marriages could refer to the John Stickles who had a wife, Effie 30 Apr 1810 when he conveyed his rights in the Stickles farm, as a grandson of Zachariah Stickles, Sr., to John Hanna. John Stickles owned three tracts about 1/2 mile southeast of the Stickles homestead, near the edge of the Andover Forge Tract. No record of how he acquired them. On 8 Apr 1813 (W:486) John and Effy sold 4.45 acres off the southernmost tract to their neighbors, the Davis's. On 6 Apr 1817 they sold the remaining property to Sarah Hill, a spinster sister of Joshua Hill and Joseph Hill. No further record of John and Effie. A John Sickles m. 14 Mar 1818 (Sussex County marriage record) Margaret Clark.
