Military Service: Valentine Stickel of York Co. in the State of Pennsylvania who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain Nicholas of the Regiment commanded by Colonel Hartley in the Pennsylvania line, for the term of (four?) years from 1775 to 1780.
Died in Conewago Township, York Co., Pennsylvania (PA), USA on Thursday, April 4, 1839 (Age 87)

In the 1830 Census there are 2 females between 20 and 29. Only three daughters are named in Valentine's will in 1832 and one of them, Betsy, is married to John McDonnel. It is likely therefore that the two females in the 1830 census are his daughters Catharine and Rebecca.

Last Will and Testament of Valentine Stickel, (6 Mar 1835), subject to the payment of two hundred and forty Dollars lawful money of the United States to each of my four following named children (to wit) John, Catharine, Rebecca and David
