Clinton Claiborne Higginbotham, son of John Milton and Mary Higginbotham, was born Dec. 1, 1894 in Texas County, Mo. and died Feb. 18, 1960 at his home on South Plumb Street, Moline.
He came with his parents to Kansas in 1901 and has been a resident of Moline ever since.
On Aug. 18, 1929 he was united in marriage to Margaret Elizabeth Stickel. To this union was born four children, two died in infancy.
He leaves to survive him, his wife, Margaret Elizabeth; two daughters, Carolyn Sue, a student at Johnson Bible School, Kimberlin Heights, Tennessee; and Sharon Lee, of the home; one brother, Fred of El Dorado; four sisters, Mrs. Octa Hainlin of Moline, Mrs. Minnie Fouch and Mrs. Ruby Pembleton of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Mrs Ruth Nay, Fort Peck, Mont.
Funeral services were held at the Watt Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 1960. Memorial services were presented by Rev. Glen Epp of the Moline Baptist church. Mrs. Melvin Miller sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Cecil Bailey at the organ. Pallbearers were: Francis Frazier, Francis Perrigo, Alex Thomas, George Fulton, Marable Bryan and Hugh Metcalf. Interment was in the Moline Cemetery.
Out of town relatives attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Higginbotham of El Dorado, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Nay of Fort Peck, Mont.; Mrs. Ruby Pembleton and Mrs. Minnie Fouch of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Evans of Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. Phil Sintena of Miami, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kelly of Cabool, Mo.; and Mrs. Owen Craven, Bucyrus, Mo.
