Comments: Martin Stickel (Gothilf's father) was born in Plotz, Bessarabia in approximately 1852. He immigrated to the US as a young man and lived most of his life in the Eureka, SD area. Our understanding is that he was quite a livestock trader for the time and a significant member of the community for quite a while in the area.
