Comments: Enos K., son of George and Phoebe (Forsythe) Stickel , was born in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania , in 1840 , and died at Scottdale, Pennsylvania , in 1897 .He grew up in Lower Tyrone township, Fayette county, Pennsylvania , but lived most of his life at Dawson . The Dawson Hotel, the first hotel at that place, was built by him, and he was for twenty years its proprietor. His trade was that of stone mason. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Both he and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal church. He married Mary Ann , daughter of Noah and Keziah Anderson , who was born in Tyrone township, Fayette county, Pennsylvania , in 1843 , and died in 1910 . Her parents lived in Tyrone township on a farm distant one mile from Dawson . Mr. Anderson was a soldier of the civil war; he was a Democrat and active in politics, and served as county poor director. He lived to the age of sixty-seven. Both he and his wife were Methodists. Their children were: Jack , lives at Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania ; Thomas , lives on the south side of Connellsville, Pennsylvania ; Mary Ann , married Enos K. Stickel .
